Unveiling the Best Chrome Extension for News Aggregation: A Comprehensive Review

With the digital era's evolution, it has become increasingly important to stay updated with the latest news and information . This has led to the popularity of various online news reading tools such as Google's news aggregator. Amidst the plethora of options in the Chrome extension store, one chrome extension that has garnered a rating of 4.04 out of 5 stands out. This article aims to provide an in-depth review of this top news aggregator and its outstanding features.

Why this Chrome Extension?

This Chrome extension is not just any online news aggregator. It revolutionizes news tracking by providing direct access to various RSS/Atom feeds of a website. In the past, finding the URL of the feed required scouring a website's source code, a cumbersome process for many users. This communication tool eliminates this need by displaying the site's RSS feeds directly, enabling seamless breaking news updates at your fingertips.

User Reviews: Strengths and Weaknesses

Extracting insights from user reviews, it is evident that this Chrome extension is highly regarded for its functionality and user-friendly interface. Users like Aleksandr Ladenko and mhamed gml have lauded its convenience and exceptional performance. Bob Loucks, another user, praises it for providing access to atom feed and compatibility with Feedly for Google news searches. He particularly appreciates this feature as Feedly usually requires premium usage for these RSS feeds.

However, like any software app, there are areas for improvement. Some users have expressed concerns over its functionality on certain sites, as noted by Matthew Turner. Also, questions about privacy policy and potential strange behavior with google searches have been raised by Run John and Alexander Shenkin respectively.

Final Verdict: Is this Chrome Extension Worth the Download?

Weighing the positives and negatives, it's clear that this Chrome extension is among the best Chrome extensions for news aggregation. Its ability to provide direct access to various RSS/Atom feeds, ease of use, and compatibility with other platforms like Feedly, make it a worthy addition to your chrome browser. The user concerns are worth noting, but the overwhelmingly positive reviews and high rating indicate that most users have had a positive experience with this Chrome extension download.

So, if you're looking for a top news aggregator that provides easy access to breaking news and keeps you updated with the latest information, this Chrome extension is a must-try. It's more than just an aggregator news tool; it's a comprehensive solution for your online news reading needs.

Barely finds some feeds

Run John

Does this have access to "feeder.co"? Is there a privacy policy around this?

Bob Loucks

For MY purposes it's excellent. I can get an atom feed and it works in Feedly for google news searches for free, whereas Feedly normally makes users pay for premium usage for those rss feeds :)

Alexander Shenkin

Works, but it was doing something strange to my google searches. It was redirecting google search result links through https://sr.gdprvalidate.de/redir/clickGate.php?... Strange... acting like spyware... comments, developer?

Matthew Turner

Doesn't work on sites even when I can see the link to the feed.

Ssuching Yu

I spent a lot of time looking for a alternative for Firefox built-in RSS feature or the awesome-rss add-on. This is the the closest one on Chrome.

Sumeet M

Not working on almost every website. Screengrab http://prntscr.com/jwd65q

Gods Eye Gaming

Leo Proechel

This is a lifesaver.

Why three stars? It works great, in that it displays the URL of RSS feeds. However, it doesn't light up, in the presence of RSS feeds, like Google's dysfunctional RSS Subscription Extension (by Google). I know Get RSS Feed URL will tell me, if I click on it, whether there's a feed there. But I would prefer the tool to be greyed-out, unless there actually is an RSS feed available on the page. So, I am forced to run both extensions; one to tell me there's an RSS feed here and the other to tell me the actual URL for that feed. Then I can copy and paste the URL into my feedreader of choice (currently, that's Feedly).
